What do I do if I have or adopt a baby?

Health Insurance
If you have family coverage, you need to complete a form to add the child’s name to your list of dependents within 30 days of the birth or adoption. If you do not have family coverage, you may change from self only to family coverage, or you may enroll in family coverage if you are not already enrolled, within 30 days of the birth or adoption. Enrollment forms are available in the Benefits Office, College Hall room 113, or in the main HRS Office, room 106.

Dental Insurance
You may add a child to your dental coverage within 30 days of the birth or adoption. Change forms are available in the Benefits Office, College Hall room 113, or in the main HRS Office, room 106.

Life Insurance
You may increase your life insurance coverage within 60 days of the birth or adoption. You may also add family coverage for the new child or children. Forms are available in the Benefits Office, College Hall room 113, or in the main HRS Office, room 106.

Beneficiaries
You may change your life insurance, retirement and TSP beneficiaries at any time. Forms are available in the Benefits Office, College Hall room 113, or in the main HRS Office, room 106.
