The Family and Medical Leave Act

CAN GALLAUDET REQUIRE A "FITNESS FOR DUTY" REPORT AFTER AN EMPLOYEE'S ABSENCE FOR A SERIOUS HEALTH CONDITION?
Yes. Employees who are absent on FMLA leave for a serious health condition for more than 30 days are expected to provide a fitness-for-duty report.
