Core Curriculum Checklist

The Core Curriculum is a set of courses that all Budget Unit Heads are required to complete. Budget Unit Heads are expected to complete the Core by June 1, 2008, or two years from the date of appointment. Additional courses in the area of leadership or employee education may be offered from time to time.

Six new courses appear in this list: LD 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, and 116. This sequence focuses on the human elements of leadership and is intended to help participants reflect on personal leadership philosophies, styles, and the “people skills” needed to be an effective leader. While dates have not yet been established, the series will begin this summer. The schedule will try to make it possible for classmates to complete the series together, to maximize trust and learning. It is important to note that these courses will build upon each other, so they must be taken in sequence.
